Training and Support

Legato provides full training and support regarding the proven Heartburn Treatment Center process as well as clinical issues regarding gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and its management. Both components are essential for a successful Center. Some of these initiatives include:

  • Training of the Heartburn Treatment Center Nurse Coordinator

    • This critical process includes clinical GERD knowledge, patient flow through the program, roles of the various physician specialists and proper utilization of Legato’s PRS software. Full ongoing support by Legato staff provides the resources required for success in this important position.

  • Legato Orientation Initiative

    • Legato acknowledges that all involved specialists, particularly gastroenterologists and surgeons, have extensive knowledge of GERD care. However, each specialist is exposed to differing and often conflicting information. The orientation program allows physicians and the Nurse Coordinator to all hear the same thing at the same time, providing a solid foundation upon which to build a successful Heartburn Treatment Center.

  • GERD-related Equipment Assessment and Recommendations

    • GERD technology is quickly evolving. Legato monitors these changes and provides suggestions to the hospital and physicians on how to incorporate new technology and best spend their capital equipment dollar.

  • Training in Diagnostics and Therapies

    • Legato provides extensive training to physicians and the Nurse Coordinator on proper utilization of diagnostics and their interpretation as well as proctoring antireflux surgery. This eliminates the so-called “learning curve” that burdens the safety of the incorporation of new technologies. Innovative methods such as web conferencing and telesurgery augment onsite training and seminars.

  • Marketing Support

    • Legato collaborates with hospital marketing staff in the organization of a successful and cost effective marketing plan for the Heartburn Treatment Center.

  • Patient Relationship Software (PRS)

    • Legato supplies a proprietary software application for the management of the Heartburn Treatment Center and fully trains the Nurse Coordinator in its utilization. On demand support is provided.
